Introducing the Small Black Coffee Index
Last year, Eric used moderately intelligent AI to make a little side project to track the average price of a small black cup of coffee. Here is the original version.
When we came across a new coffee shop, Eric would pull out his laptop, open a JSON file, manually copy the GPS coordinates of the location, price, and other data. That file fed the rudimentary map, and updated the lowest and highest price.
It was a bit of a pain to keep up with, but then again Eric doesn't really know how to code.
This Past February
This year something changed and AI coding got a lot better—so Eric spruced up his small black coffee index for the masses! Now instead of manually importing every transaction, it's open to the public! It scans, validates, and plots coffee prices on the map in real-time for anyone that wants to contribute.
With any luck, this will be the next Big Mac index (or at least McBroken).
You can check it out at coffeeprices.org!
